Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Version of Photoshop do I need?

The actions were written with Adobe Photoshop CC Classic. Any of the Photoshop versions from the past few years should be fine. Some older versions may have difficulty with some of the actions.

Where can I call for support?

Call Uncle Louie. Yes, in our family, the proverbial non-existent person was Uncle Louie. There is no-one to call for support. Check out the support section of this website for answers to many questions. PlayWithYourPixels actions are provided as-is with no support. There is a contact link in the website for reporting any broken actions or for requests for future features.

How do I learn how to use the actions?

To help get you started, you'll find learning videos on this site in the Learn section. It's also a good idea to have a basic understanding on how to run Actions in Photoshop. Review your Photoshop documentation for more information.

The Actions don't work. Now what do I do?

It's important that you do not change the Actions, this includes the toggle switches on the left of the Actions panel. If the Actions stop working, the most likely cause is that a change has been made to the Action. The best way to repair this is to remove the actions from the Actions panel and reload them.

The picture doesn't look sharp. What can I do?

When you run the actions, the first step is cropping the image. You need to start with a high resolution image that will allow you to print the portion of the image. Most digital cameras today create files that will work but you can't crop too tightly or the quality of the image will degrade.

Where can I buy nice paper for printing my projects?

The best source for photo paper and greeting card stock is Red River Paper.
